Shawn A. Binns, MD

Dr. Binns was born in Jamaica, but has spent most of his life in the northeast, having grown up in Waterbury, CT before moving to Storrs, CT to complete his undergraduate studies at the University of Connecticut. He received his MD from Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA and completed his Pediatrics residency at Hasbro Children’s Hospital at Brown University in Providence, RI. Prior to moving to Washington DC, he worked as a pediatrician at East Lyme Pediatric Clinic in Niantic, CT.

When he’s not in the office, you can find Dr. Binns exploring all that DC has to offer or engaging in one of his hobbies – he loves live music and is a longtime martial artist with 20 years of combined experience in multiple martial arts including Capoeira and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Dr. Binns brings a bright smile, a positive attitude, and a multitude of dad jokes. He is looking forward to meeting you and hearing about your favorite DC area recommendations!
